A home for the 'beauty-disadvantaged'

Mayor Molony: attracts the unattractiveMayor Molony: attracts the unattractive

Stereotypical Australia isn't exactly known for its female-respecting culture. The mayor of Mount Isa over there is not doing his best to improve their reputation. But it's all in a good cause: satiating primitive male desires whilst bring a smile to the (ugly) face of love-non-stricken laydeez.

Mount Isa is a "testosterone town" full of male miners. In fact, there's about 5 men to every 1 women out there. Annoying, and not great for the reproductive prospects of that town either the Poorhouse is sure. So, what's the solution?

Some sort of analysis and support to make the tough world of a dirty miner less unattractive to women (after all, apparently a few come out to be hairdressers, but they just don't last). Nah. Let's solve the problem by inviting all of Australia's ugly biatches to the capital. Obviously ugly women can't find love or happiness in "normal" society, and men who normally judge valid partnerships solely by looks (OK, some of this might not be wholly untrue for the more idiot of the species huh?), instantly reduce their "standards" in a XX-chromosomal drought. It's simple economics: supply and demand.

An exaggeration the part of the Poorhouse? Never! Check out Mayor Molony's words of gentle invite:

...we should find out where there are beauty-disadvantaged women and ask them to proceed to Mount Isa

Yes, "beauty disadvantaged". It's clear the mayor's PR department worked on euphemising this one to the max.

Quite often you will see walking down the street a lass who is not so attractive with a wide smile on her face. Whether it is recollection of something previous or anticipation for the next evening, there is a degree of happiness.

Often those who are beauty-disadvantaged are unhappy with their lot.

Some, in other places in Australia, need to proceed to Mount Isa where happiness awaits.

Oddly enough, this has caused a bit of offence, especially amongst the women-folk, who may or may not be "beauty disadvantaged" themselves.

The outraged women of Mount Isa felt that the mayor's comments were archaic and it is totally not the image that we want to project for our city

Cit y Councillor Jean Ferris - presumably a women? - also jibbered on a bit about how he should resign. John Molony cares not one jot for the un-fairer sex mind, teasing them with his fighting words: "They will have to do more than call for my resignation". Maybe someone will, with words like "disgrace" and "appalled" and "offensive" echoing through the corridors of power.

He has his supporters, not least the anti-protest-protest group wandering around the town wearing "beauty-challenged" T-shirts and proclaiming "I'm ugly and I vote".

What the article failed to mention was exactly where in the world there was an immense man shortage. Of purely academic interest of course, but surely in the interests of fair and balanced reporting, no?

........beauty is in the eye of the boulder. ;-D

Does any one else see the

Does any one else see the darwinian nightmare scenario brewing?? You have loads of rough and possibly less than intelligent (making a huge judgemental leap based on their profession) miners breeding with 'beauty disadvantaged' women. Seems like a real dumb-and-ugly sub-species in the making. And being Australian, it's not like that's something they have to strive for!

hahaha, well this maybe

hahaha, well this maybe would prove whether evolution is true or not I guess.

PS: I can see through your anonymous facade all too easily...Strong anti-australian sentiment, a non-worship of the beauty of reproduction, there can't be all that many of you out there :-) But as long as they get so dumb and ugly that they feel the need to make yet more trashy soaps aimed at teenagers, I'm all for it.
