Anyone who, such as, has the internet - be it in US America, the Iraq or elsewhere - will no doubt have seen, such as, this but anyway...check out Lauren Caitlin Upton - Miss South Carolina - attempting to win the "perve on pretty teenagers who are way too young for you" competition that is Miss Teen USA.
For those sans sound, here's the transcript
Question:
recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can’t locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?
Answer:
I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, um, some people out there in our nation don’t have maps and uh, I believe that our, I, education like such as uh, South Africa, and uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uhh, our education over here in the US should help the US, uh, should help South Africa, it should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for our children
She still came fourth though. The Poorhouse dreads to think what wisdom the rest of the runners up must have expounded.
Bonus feature: her explanation and not-at-all-even-more-coached re-answer of the question on the Today show. Not to be uncharitable, but she still doesn't sound like the sharpest tool in the shed. Good at repeating things other people say though, and in places really quite honest.
At what point Caitlin during the answer did you start to think to yourself 'Is this making any sense?'
Uhh...right when the question was asked to me…
